Mapping What Matters
COMMUNITY
A Victorian school community wanted to understand their wellbeing practices and identify gaps that were affecting student belonging and staff confidence.
This project began with a Victorian school community seeking clarity about their wellbeing practices. Staff were committed to supporting students, but the existing approaches were scattered, inconsistent, and difficult to communicate. The school wanted to understand:What wellbeing practices were already workingWhere gaps existedHow to build a more connected, human‑centred approachHow to strengthen student belonging and staff confidenceThis created the foundation for a collaborative, respectful process grounded in RBW values. Our Approach We used a structured, human‑centred method that brought the whole community into the process. Step 1 — Listening and Understanding We met with staff and leaders to understand their wellbeing story, existing practices, and the challenges they were facing. Step 2 — Mapping Current Practices We created a clear visual map of all wellbeing activities, supports, and routines across the school. Step 3 — Identifying Gaps and Opportunities Together, we explored where practices were strong, where duplication existed, and where students or staff needed more support. Step 4 — Co‑Designing a Connected Approach We facilitated workshops to co‑design a more aligned, relational wellbeing system that reflected the school’s values and community needs. Step 5 — Building Confidence and Shared Ownership We supported staff to embed the new approach, ensuring clarity, consistency, and confidence across the school.
